As a Senior Technical Program Manager in the Azure Service Fabric team, you will work on delivering a managed experience to our customers with built-in known-good configurations reducing service outages and cognitive load on customers. You will partner with Microsoft internal teams leveraging Service Fabric to identify their needs and pain-points. You will collaborate with development teams across Azure to build plans to mitigate those pain-points, identify risks, and communicate those plans and risks. This opportunity will allow you gain deep understanding of building large scale distributed services. It will also help you develop a deeper perspective on the internal architecture of the Azure Cloud. This is a flexible work opportunity allowing selected candidates to fully work from home.

Responsibilities

  • You will partner with Software and Hardware Engineering to design technical solutions across feature areas. You’ll also identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.

  • You’ll define success criteria and create relationships for implementing features for complex cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across organizations.

  • You will deliver on roadmap for multiple feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation plan, and manage governance programs.

  • You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and writing test cases from scratch. You’ll also lead teams to partner with other departments to collect performance metrics, drive customer support, and lead direct customer engagements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with application infrastructure management or orchestration

  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills along with experience in driving product reviews, presentations to org leader

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
