Job Description:
This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution aligned to the enterprise architecture strategy, technology, and platform choices. Key responsibilities include describing the solution intent/associated operating environment, evaluating system impacts, determining the primary systems/sub-systems and their interfaces, and assisting with end-to-end solution design. Job expectations include defining non-functional requirements/architectural runway to support new epics/features and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose by working with stakeholders and service providers.
Provide the Consumer and Small Business solutions architecture team with proven delivery on innovations within the Payment and Merchant Technology space.
Deliver Omni-channel solutions within across traditional payment networks and trending payment networks including virtual wallets and merchant services.
Serve as a Senior Leader in architecture strategy, solutions and delivery.
Enterprise role description: Participates in design, development and implementation of architectural deliverables, to include components of the assessment and optimization of system design and review of user requirements.
Contributes to the determination of technical and operational feasibility of solutions.
Develops prototypes of the system design and works with database, operations, technical support and other IT areas as appropriate throughout development and implementation processes.
May lead multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor.
Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations, as well as mentor newer Architects.
Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel.
Required Qualifications:
Effective Communication skills
Demonstrated ability to document processes and platform architecture into sustainable documents
Plan, develop, organize, build and test service and API integration services
Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts
Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
Strong use of visuals skills, ability to convene points with graphics and illustrations
Strong attention to detail
8+ years financial services industry experience
2+ years Digital & Physical payment implementation experience
3+ years Previous Bank of America Experience
2+ years Proven experience in delivery innovated and newer trends in payments / financial networks - specific examples required
Knowledge of Payments data/object/service models
Knowledge of HSMs and security models
Knowledge of network integration with 3rd party networks including ACH, ATM, RTP, and Card Networks
Desired Qualifications:
5+ years experience in integration services programming and Architecture
Bachelors in Computer Science, Communications, or Operations Proven experience working in a application programming position
Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
Ability to simplify complex information
Familiarity with financial services and payments and payment processing
Working in large organizations and understanding of the culture these large organizations bring
Responsibilities:
Consults with the business and operations to identify and understand challenges and opportunities to improve the use and effectiveness of technology, find creative solutions through knowledge of the domain, practical experiments, and Proof of Concepts, and aligns the solution intent and architectural vision to an evolving backlog of technology change
Works with product management and other stakeholders to plan and prioritize technology focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable business epics/features
Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)
Leads rapid shaping of a high level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements and ensures architecture is flexible, modular, and designed to adapt easily
Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions
Clarifies the architecture and assists with system design for the development teams to support implementation and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
Utilizes the defined best practices, templates, and documentation to create architectural designs and suggests improvements to best practices and templates
