Insight Global Secret Rapid Response Technician in Arlington, Virginia

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Rapid Response Technician to sit in Arlington, VA supporting a government customer. This individual will be responsible for installation and documentation of new and/or updated Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber and all associated elements in various government buildings (Pentagon, Mark Center, and buildings within the National Capital Region). They must follow government and commercial best practice procedures, standards required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation. This individual will be responsible for supporting this work within these government facilities and the residential buildings of high-level VIPs and Government Officials.

Skills and Requirements

- Active Secret Clearance

- Comfortable working fully onsite for the following shift: Monday-Friday (7 am -- 3:30 pm or 6 am -- 2:30 pm)

- Bachelor's degree and 3 -- 5 years of relevant telecommunication experience

- Familiar with EIA/TIA and BICSI rules, regulations, and standards

- Professional experience dressing, terminating, and testing CAT Cabling (Cat6a, Cat 5e, and CAT 3)

- Ample amounts of troubleshooting experience on CAT Cabling

o Ability to explain the methodology behind these responsibilities

- Familiar with different pieces of test equipment: Fluke Testers, Network Testers, OTDRs, and/or Unicams

- Hands on experience creating test result documentation

- Ability to identify, track, and remove abandoned cable

- Tests, locates, installs. And repairs cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and performs routine maintenance - Ability and willingness to work after hours when needed (2-5 hours per calendar year)

- Possess a valid driver's license to operate a government vehicle null
