The Global Corporate Employee Relations (GCER) team at Amazon is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to take ownership of data management, analytics, dashboards/reporting using QuickSight, and report automation for our global team. The position requires an individual who has deep subject matter expertise, strong technical and business acumen, Customer Obsession, and the ability to Invent and Simplify. These competencies will enable the individual to work independently to successfully optimize processes that will provide data driven insights that will inform strategy for PXT leadership and the business.

A day in the life

The central objective of the Global Corporate Employee Relations at Amazon team is to ensure our organization’s treatment of every employee is fair, respectful, and consistent with our core business values, policies and objectives as we Strive to be Earth’s Best Employer. The position reports to the Principal, Global Corporate Employee Relations. This is a full-time position that could require minimal travel, of less than 10% of the time over the course of the year.

Arlington, VA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

  • Experience writing and communicating technical information for non-technical audience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

  • Experience communicating results and business impact of analytical deep dives to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
