Red Hat Global Solution Architect in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Position Summary

The Red Hat Sales team is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to guide the growth and development of Red Hat’s business in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In this role you will be the global technical sales leader for your global account. You will create possibilities, solve problems and establish trusted relationships with our customers’ subsidiaries and local Technical sales team. You will collaborate with the Sales, Customer Success, and Partner Ecosystem teams to discover the customer’s business and technical objectives and help them invest in the right solutions from the Red Hat and Partner Ecosystem portfolio.

You’ll be expected to handle a range of customer conversations, from introductory discussions on our solutions to mapping architectural and technical details specific to the customer’s environment. As the Global Account Solution Architect, you will coordinate the efforts of other Red Hat technical staff to design solutions and ensure customer adoption and satisfaction. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills, being perceived on a Principal Architect level , as you'll be a crucial part of the first impression our customers have with Red Hat. You will also need to have knowledge of the FSI industry, including trends and challenges. Finally, you’ll want to have a passion for open source, and a balance of technical expertise with business acumen.

What you will do

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of our customers' business goals, technical objectives and IT environments.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Red Hat Services and Partner Ecosystem teams to assess the potential application of Red Hat and Partner solutions.

  • Act as the lead technical orchestrator creating synergy with the cross border Red Hat Technical sales teams in order to align focus on a global level.

  • Provide pre-sales technical leadership for the development and implementation of complex solutions and services.

  • Be the owner of the Technical Account and Customer Success Plan.

  • Develop strategic relationships up to C-level with our customers to become a trusted advisor.

  • Deliver proof of value to our customers and partners through presentations, demonstrations, workshops and pilot projects.

  • Research and write the responses to technical sections of RFIs, RFPs and RFQs.

  • Coordinate the technical efforts of other Red Hat resources like Product Specialists, Support and Professional Services.

  • Deliver compelling recommendations that result in the closing of new sales.

  • Own and meet a bookings quota and perform regular reviews and reports about the opportunities you are working on.

  • Share your expertise by contributing to documentation (e.g., wikis, quick-start guides, blog posts and white papers), developing reusable assets (e.g., demonstrations, workshops) and presenting at conferences and industry events.

What you will bring

  • Pre-sales, consulting, IT architecture or equivalent experience in support of multinational accounts.

  • Demonstrate several examples of understanding a customer’s complex business problem, helping them solve the problem with the Red Hat portfolio of solutions, architectures and services, and presenting the customer’s business outcome.

  • Expert level sales soft skills, ability to strategize with business acumen, and value sell at the Executive level.

  • Integration, development, or administration experience with UNIX, Linux systems, IT-Automation tooling and Kubernetes container platforms.

  • Skilled in presenting to small and large groups of mixed audiences, including business, technical, management and leadership teams.

  • Experienced in developing relationships at engineering, commercial and executive levels throughout multinational enterprise IT organizations.

  • Experienced with modern and emerging technologies including public and private cloud, container orchestration & management, IT automation & configuration management, DevSecOps and CI/CD, and modern application frameworks.

  • Collaboration with others and the ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Excellent written communication skills.

  • Fluent language skills in Dutch and English.

  • Willingness to travel within and outside the region.

  • a Red Hat Certified System Administration (RHCSA) certification or higher is a prerequisite.

One or more of the following is a plus:

  • Experience or certification with any public cloud provider

  • Customer Success certification like CCSM Level 1

  • ITIL Foundations, TOGAF, PMP, etc.

  • Application development and topologies skills, JAVA and open source frameworks

  • Basic knowledge of Open Practices
